About Melissa

Melissa is a Registered Psychologist who provides individual, couple, family, and group counselling. Melissa works to instill hope in the people she works with, and works collaboratively with her clients to help them achieve their goals.

Melissa has a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Behavioural Science from McGill University. Melissa was a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association before becoming a Registered Psychologist.

Melissa has worked within the field of mental health and addictions for over 18 years, working with adolescents, adults, and families.  Melissa is experienced in couples counselling and marriage preparation. She is also a FOCCUS, REFOCCUS, and Prepare-Enrich Facilitator working with couples before and after they are married to foster open communication in all areas of their relationships. She was the founding President of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association of Canada. Melissa is fluent in French. Melissa provides seminars and presentations on a variety of topics including addictions, grief, emotions, family life, self-care, and healthy boundaries. Melissa is married for over 20 years and has been blessed with four children.

Melissa Guzik is an individual, couple, family and group therapist who helps people with their struggles so they can experience more hope, joy and peace in their lives. Her counselling office is located in Edmonton, Alberta.
